Why would Jesus, who is perfect and sinless, need to do the same things other Jewish people are commanded to do? It’s not about Jesus needing to do such things, but about the practice of obedience. In this case, the obedience of Mary and Joseph is on display. Do the right thing, position yourself where God wants you to be, and then be ready to experience God’s blessing.
