Indeed, as Pastor Scott reminded us, the very act of obedience to God (a decision) leads to us being drawn to him (desire). Which is a pretty cool outcome that can have a cyclical effect (i.e., the more we obey the Lord, the more we’re drawn to him, and more we’re drawn to him, the more we’ll obey him). But the opposite can be true as well: Not obeying the Lord can result in us feeling alienated (i.e. far from) him — and a dangerous cyclical effect can result as well.

Pastor Scott also spoke to us about our tendency to drift away from God — and broke down the six incremental steps that are part of it.
