Know Jesus

THE GOSPEL

Do You Know Jesus?

Maybe you're exploring faith for the first time. Maybe you've been around church for years but aren't sure what it really means to follow Jesus. Or perhaps you're simply asking, Who is Jesus, and what does He have to do with my life?

Whatever brought you here, we're glad you're asking.

Christianity isn't simply about being a good person, following a list of rules, or attending church. At the heart of Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ.

You can know Him.

We All Have a Sin Problem

God created us to know Him, love Him, and live in relationship with Him. But every one of us has chosen our own way instead of God's way.

The Bible calls this sin.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23

Sin isn't only the obvious wrong things we do. It includes our thoughts, attitudes, words, choices, and the ways we turn away from God.

No matter how good we try to be, none of us can make ourselves right with God.

We all need His forgiveness.

<span style="color:var(--secondary-color-bg)">Sin Separates Us From God</span>

Sin Separates Us From God

God is holy and just, and sin creates a separation between us and Him.

The Bible tells us:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 6:23

Our sin has a real consequence. We cannot overcome that separation through our own effort, good works, or religious activity.

But there is good news.

God has made a way for us to be reconciled to Him.

<span style="color:var(--secondary-color-bg)">God Loves You</span>

God Loves You

Even though we have turned away from God, He has not turned away from us.

God loves us and demonstrated that love by sending His Son, Jesus Christ.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8

God didn't wait for us to become good enough.

He came to us.

His love was demonstrated through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

<span style="color:var(--secondary-color-bg)">Jesus Came to Save Us</span>

Jesus Came to Save Us

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

He lived the perfect life that we could never live. He willingly went to the cross and took the punishment for our sins.

He died in our place.

But Jesus didn't remain in the grave.

He rose again.

The resurrection of Jesus is at the heart of the Christian faith. Jesus conquered sin and death so that those who trust in Him can have forgiveness, new life, and the hope of eternity with God.

Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
— John 14:6

Jesus doesn't simply invite us to learn about Him.

He invites us to know Him and follow Him.

Salvation Is a Gift

You don't have to earn God's forgiveness.

You can't buy it, work for it, or become good enough to deserve it.

Salvation is a gift of God's grace that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”
— Ephesians 2:8

To follow Jesus means turning away from our sin and turning toward Him. The Bible calls this repentance and faith.

We acknowledge that we need a Saviour, believe that Jesus died and rose again for us, and place our trust in Him.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
— Romans 10:13

I SAY YES!

How Do I Respond to Jesus?

If you understand your need for Jesus and are ready to place your trust in Him, you can respond to Him today.
There isn't a special formula or perfect set of words you need to say. You can simply talk honestly with God.
You can confess your sin, ask for His forgiveness, turn from your old way of living, and place your faith in Jesus.

A Prayer of Faith

Jesus, I know that I have sinned and that I need You. I believe that You died for my sins and rose again. I turn away from my sin and put my trust in You. Please forgive me, lead me, and help me follow You. I give my life to You. Amen.

A prayer doesn't save us because we said the right words.

Jesus saves us.

Our salvation rests in God's grace and our faith in Jesus Christ.

TAKE THE NEXT STEPS

What Happens Next?

If you've decided to follow Jesus, you've taken an incredible first step.

But salvation isn't the end of the journey.

It's the beginning of a new life with Christ.

Following Jesus means growing in your relationship with Him, learning His Word, connecting with His people, and becoming more like Him.

And you don't have to figure it out alone.

Read the Bible

God has given us His Word so we can know Him and understand His will for our lives. If you're just getting started, the Gospel of John is a great place to begin.

Start Praying

Prayer is simply talking with God. You can bring Him your questions, fears, hopes, struggles, and everything happening in your life.

Connect With a Church

God designed us to grow together with other believers. A local church is a place where you can worship, learn God's Word, build relationships, and grow as a disciple of Jesus.

Jesus Is Worth Knowing

The Christian life isn't ultimately about religion, rules, or simply becoming a better person.

It's about Jesus.

He loves you.
He gave His life for you.
He rose again.
And He invites you to know Him and follow Him.

Jesus said:

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
— John 17:3
