ABOUT AWANA

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed

AWANA is an international children's ministry dedicated to helping kids know, love, and serve Jesus for a lifetime. The name AWANA comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 and stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.

At GraceWay Bible Church,  AWANA is available for children ages 3 through 8th grade and meets most Fridays during the school year from 6:45–8:45 PM.

Your children will find each evening filled with fun, friendships, and opportunities to grow in God's Word.

Every AWANA club meeting is designed to help children grow spiritually while enjoying an exciting and welcoming environment.

Kids can look forward to:

  • Encouraging leaders who care about every child
  • Building lasting friendships

Every club night helps children discover God's truth in ways they can understand and apply to everyday life.

Building a Strong Biblical Foundation

One of the hallmarks of AWANA is helping children know God's Word through Scripture memorization and Bible study.

During Book Time, clubbers work through age-appropriate handbooks with the guidance of caring leaders who encourage them, answer questions, and help them understand what they're learning.

Children are also encouraged to continue working through their books at home, allowing families to participate in their spiritual growth throughout the week.

Growing Through Service and Community

AWANA is about more than learning Bible verses. Throughout the year, children have opportunities to serve others, celebrate achievements, and enjoy unforgettable experiences together.

Some highlights include:

  • Operation Christmas Child projects
  • Supporting AWANA ministries around the world
  • AWANA Store reward days
  • Christmas celebrations
  • End-of-year awards
  • Special outings like Sky Zone, hiking, roller skating, and more

These experiences help children build friendships while learning what it means to live out their faith.
