Our Core Values

For GraceWay to fulfill its purpose, our community of believers must exhibit certain core values to accomplish it.

These core values are based upon the Word of God.

  • Must govern our relationships

    Luke 15

I Peter 3:15 -- "But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence."

  • MUST CHARACTERIZE OUR LIVES

Ephesians 2:10 -- "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

1 Timothy 6:18 -- "Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share."

  • MUST DRIVE OUR MINISTRIES

2 Corinthians 5:17 -- "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, [ahe is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

Romans 12:2 -- "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

  • must mark our ministries

1 Corinthians 9:22 -- "To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some."

1 Thessalonians 2:13 -- "For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe."

  • must permeate our ministries

Colossians 1:28 -- "We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ."

2 Timothy 3:16-17 -- "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

  • must personify our church

Acts 4:33-35 -- "And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales and lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need."

1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 -- "Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more."

  • must describe our workers

1 Corinthians 12:4-11 -- "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills."

Romans 12:3-8 -- "For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness."

  • must distinguish our efforts

Colossians 3:23-24 -- "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve."

1 Corinthians 10:31 -- "Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

  • must finance our ministries

2 Corinthians 9:6-10 -- "Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; as it is written, 'He scattered abroad, He gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever.' Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness."

Philippians 4:17-19 -- "Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account. But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

  • must pervade our endeavors

Hebrews 11:6 -- "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him."

Proverbs 3:5-6 -- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
